5 Modern Farmhouse Interiors That Will Make You Want To Redecorate This Weekend
Modern farmhouse is a style of interior we love here at Home Envy Members Club. It’s a style of design we see so frequently over the pond in the US, but here in the UK, it’s still a relatively undiscovered source of inspiration. Do you want to learn how to create a modern farmhouse interior? Help is at hand….
Today I wanted to share five spaces throughout the house that have the absolute wow factor – and you’ll see from the following rooms, you don’t need a huge colour palette, bold patterns or statement furniture to create a stunning home.
Interior design house Studio McGee nail the modern farmhouse look again and again, and this mountain home shows how a monochrome palette sits perfectly in this style of kitchen. Traditional shaker cabinetry is updated with brass handles, while the open shelving provides ample storage space while keeping the room open and light – if they design duo had chosen to use wall cabinets across to top, it would have had a much more closed off feel to the final design. The key to making a neutral colour palette work as seen here by interior design company, Chango & Co, is layering a mix of luxe textures. By using a textured wallpaper, it adds depth to the space and stops the room from looking flat. Rustic elements such as the wood and iron coffee table are teamed with more contemporary pieces of artwork and sculpture, creating the perfect hybrid of modern farmhouse style. (Image credit)
Although a stunning room, which personifies modern farmhouse style effortlessly, this home once belonged to designer Janette Mallory, who lost her home in the Woolsey Fire that started in November 2018. We spotted this over on interiors website, The Haven List, and wanted to share its beauty. I’m sure you’re in agreement of how light, fresh, contemporary yet welcoming this space really was. The beauty of modern farmhouse is that it has both masculine and feminine elements to its design. Take this bathroom by design company LeClair Décor. The black hardware, clean lines and industrial light fixtures give an almost industrial feel to the space, while it’s softened by the use of the vintage runner, plants and lots of natural light.
Finally, this dining room captures the modern farmhouse vibe effortlessly with its handcrafted oak table, teamed with French bistro chairs, industrial light fitting (such a great statement piece over a dining table) and tactile finishes such as the sheepskin throw and brass tray. This room proves how you can combine a mix of textures in a muted colour palette and still create a wow factor. (Image credit)
